Have we seen the end of Sturridge’s Liverpool career? 1

Today Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Daniel Sturridge has suffered a new injury and will be out of class against Arsenal tomorrow. You do have to wonder that after yet another setback, have we seen the end of Sturridge’s Liverpool career?

Talking about the striker in his pre-Arsenal press conference, Klopp said:

“Sturridge is not training. He was ill, really ill. Now he has a strain his hip muscle. It happened in a rehab session. It’s very small but it keeps him out of normal training for another week. or so, he can train but he won’t be in team training.”

The signs that Sturridge’s Liverpool career will come to an end this summer as Jurgen Klopp is prepared to sell the 27-year-old striker. When he was talking about his future this week, Klopp said:

“I have no idea what happens in the summer. It is not only Daniel but a lot of players.

“We have to bring him back to the best shape possible and then bring this season to an end as successfully as possible.”

“Then we will make decisions and speak about Daniel and any other players about what will happen at the end of the season.”

“A lot of things will influence this and we can speak about it when it is time.”

There is no denying Sturridge’s class andegree goalscoring threat and ability. His main issues are fitness and adaptability to a new system. We await to see what happens are the season closes.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave, I also wouldn’t be surprised to see him do well as the club would play to his strengths.
Klopp has a system, it’s one that has been successful. We just need FSG to back him and spend money. I’d love to see Lacazette move to us. He’s a quality player. Someone who would add that threat we really need and at times miss. We are so embarrassingly limp up front too often.
