Sakho is now ready to move on

Mamadou Sakho is now ready to move on and has finally accepted he has no future at Liverpool.
He has been surplus to requirements all season and Klopp has got him training with the U23’s.

Having not played for the 1st team since being suspended by UEFA last April for a drugs violation. Ironically the charges were later quashed. His exclusion from the squad was seen as many as the main reason Liverpool failed on their European quest last season.

3 weeks before Klopp joined Liverpool, Sakho signed a new five-year deal. However over time Klopp’s opinion of him has declined due to his erratic behaviour. During the US Pre-season tour he was sent home under a dark cloud. Whilst the truth hasn’t come out fully it’s fair to say that their relationship declined rapidly from there.
It seemed initially he was turning things around. He was involved in a lot of charity work, painting and decorating for local charities. Almost looking at improving ‘brand Sakho’.

Way out of Anfield

On transfer deadline day, Stoke City tried to sign Sakho on loan. But he rejected that, wishing to stay at Anfield. Naturally Klopp was annoyed and got him training with the U23’s. This quickly came to an end after a series of Snapchat messages.

“Now it’s three weeks I am fit to play games. I finish all my rehabilitation work. They don’t want me to play also with second team lol [sic]! Why I don’t know,”

“I accept my situation, but I can’t accept the lie…the fans deserve to know the true [sic]!”

There have been reports that Lille are interested in signing him. It’s looking a loan move in January with followed by a permanent deal in the summer. Sakho has £100k a week wages would probably mean any deal would be subsidised by Liverpool.

Matip and Lovren forming a great defensive partnership

Rodgers rock

Initially he was Liverpool’s ‘rock’ but Klopp’s style is different to Rodgers. Klopp insists on everyone being comfortable, quick on the ball and level headed. Sakho occasionally makes panicked clearances and wayward passes. He doesn’t appear composed on the ball anymore.

Especially when you compare him to Matip, who really is building a great defensive partnership with Lovren.
