Liverpool central defender Mamadou Sakho has reportedly said to be disgusted with coach Jurgen Klopp’s treatment of him. He has now demanded a move away from the club in January. Fantastic news we all say!!
Sakho has been involved in numerous controversial incidents, including upsetting Jurgen Klopp during the club’s preseason tour of America. He has since been exiled from the first team, also forced to play for the Under-23 side.
The 26-year-old was also caught up in a doping scandal towards the end of last season, forcing him to miss the Europa League Final – we certainly missed his presence that night. He hasn’t made an appearance since April following that forced ban.
Asked in September whether he will get back in the first team if he works hard, Klopp replied: “Those two things are not a rule for Mamadou Sakho, it’s a rule for every player – work hard and give your best.”
“I spoke to the team and I spoke to Mama and we spoke together and that’s it. From my side everything is done and now we can carry on.”
There have been times when Klopp could have recalled Sakho, however, it appears that Klopp is now unwilling to reintroduce Sakho into the squad. Most recently the game against Bournemouth – one they lost with a list of defensive errors.
Sakho sold in the New Year
It is now looking more likely that Sakho will be sold in the New Year. The latest two teams are the Milan based ones. Both Inter Milan and AC Milan have shown an interest.
And according to Le Parisien, the French international has been disgusted with the treatment he has witnessed from the club and Klopp, despite the German coach insisting that at the start of the season the slate had been wiped clean between the pair.
