Liverpool have reportedly agreed personal terms with Naby Keita and have an agreement in principle with the RB Leipzig midfielder, according to journalist Gabriele Marcotti.
Naby Keita joined RB Leipzig from their sister club Salzburg last summer and has had a superb first season in the Bundesliga. The Guinea international’s performances have reportedly attracted the attention of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp who is keen to bring in the 22-year-old.
According to ESPN reporter Gabriele Marcotti, the Anfield club have reached an agreement with Naby Keita regarding his personal terms. Claiming the club have an agreement in principle for his wages and the length of contract but are yet to agree a deal with Leipzig.
Although Liverpool would still need to agree with Leipzig and agreements in principle only matter so much, but let’s not forget this is how we eventually captured Mohamed Salah.
Keita revealed this week Liverpool had made an approach for him last summer, along with a host of other Premier League sides, including Arsenal, Southampton and Manchester City.
Keita is under contract with Leipzig until June 2022 but has admitted he has ambitions to leave the club.
“I hope, however, that I have the level in two, three years and could play for one of the very big clubs.”
