Roma star Mohamed Salah has fuelled the speculation over a summer transfer to the Premier League after admitting interest in joining long-term admirers Liverpool.
Liverpool have shown interest in the Egyptian international for some years now and according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, via Soccerisma, the 24-year-old is interested in a move to Anfield.
Liverpool will certainly be looking to add to their current side with Champions League football next season a likely prospect, despite having more than enough attacking options with Coutinho, Firmino and Mane all impressing this season.
Liverpool tried to sign the winger during Brendan Rodgers’ time in charge, only to be beaten to the punch by Premier League rivals Chelsea. At Chelsea, Salah wasn’t given many chances to prove his worth before being shipped off on loan to Fiorentina and Roma, the latter being made a permanent move after performing well for the Italian club.
This season, Salah has scored 17 goals and made 15 assists in 39 games for Roma, an impressive turnover for any forward in today’s game.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring the winger to Anfield and is looking to match Roma’s asking price of £43m due to the versatility of the attacking player able to play on either wing or central to provide options for the forward.
