Liverpool are to reward Lallana with a new contract..

It looks like Liverpool are to reward Lallana with a new contract. The England international is going to be offered a new long-term. This is off the back of some recent impressive games this season.

There is arguably no Liverpool player who has improved more under Klopp, and it has become clear that the Reds manager is a huge admirer.

Klopp’s 1st game in charge was against Tottenham. Liverpool ran hard and pressed high throughout the game. This was clear for all to see on Lallana’s face. He was simply exhausted, collapsing into Klopp’s arms. From then Klopp knew that he was a warrior. Someone who would fight for his cause.

Last season when playing out wide it often looked like he was being restricted. Potentially held back by the tactics…?
However when in full flow Lallana is a joy to watch.

Thriving in central role

Full of energy, flair, enthusiasm and willingness to try something different. His new role in central midfield whilst 4-3-3 allows him more time to do this.

Typified with a great goal at the weekend. Linking up well with Wijnaldum, who incidentally had another great game. Who showed his strength holding the ball up after a clever run from Sturridge. Waiting for Lallana to get into place before unleashing a powerful shot from the edge of the area.

Liverpool keen to ensure Lallana is playing for them when he enters the peak of his career.

Lallana told the club’s website: “Collectively as a team I thought we were outstanding.

“We got the two goals in the first half but let them back in with some sloppy play from ourselves. It was no-one’s fault and as a team we probably didn’t manage the game as well as we should have at 2-0 and gave them a few sniffs.

“We said that at half-time and I thought in the second half we were outstanding again, on the front foot and got the goals at the right time. We’ve set the tempo for what we want Anfield to be like this season.”

New contract…?

Lallana’s current deal expires in 2019. Liverpool are though to be keen to tie the 28-year-old down to a longer contract. Ensuring that he’s playing for Liverpool when he’s entering his peak.
I’m sure that as the season progresses so will the number of contract negotiations. With Emre Can, Dejan Lovren and Divock Origi all looking to impress to remain part of Klopp’s plans and his revolution.

I stumbled upon your blog and think it’s brilliant. Think Lallana is a very underrated player.
