Liverpool face Southampton in the League Cup Semi-final

The League Cup Quarter-final games have concluded. Liverpool have been drawn against Southampton in the League Cup semi-finals.
Having beaten them at the Quarter-final stage last year Liverpool will be hoping victory over them would put them on course for victory this year.

The first leg to played at St Mary’s Stadium.

Having disposed of Gary Monk’s Leeds United in the quarter-finals they are reaching the semi-finals of the tournament for a record 17th time. Klopp has Divock Origi and Ben Woodburn to thank for this. At times last night it looked as it may have ended differently!

The first leg will take place on January 10 or 11, before the deciding tie at Anfield on either January 24 or 25. Hopefully it will be a much better encounter than the recent 0-0 draw in the league.

Victory would set up a final against either Manchester United or Hull City. I’m not sure who I’d fancy. My head says Hull City, but my heart is relishing the opportunity of beating Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.
