Joe Gomez will remain at Liverpool next season after being given assurances about his first-team involvement, Sky Sports News HQ understands.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a loan move away from Anfield ahead of next season, with newly-promoted Brighton among the clubs mentioned as a potential suitor. It was understood Gomez did consider the possibility of a loan switch but has opted to stay at Liverpool having been told he will feature under manager Jurgen Klopp.
Injury has restricted Gomez to just 10 appearances at Liverpool, since joining from Charlton for £3.5m in June 2015. Having returned to action in January following 15 months out everyone expected him to return to action after the horror show of Klavan! But nothing materialised.
Lets hope that next season whilst we are fighting on four fronts we can see a more frequent return to the starting eleven for Gomez.
