It seems that Liverpool and in particular FSG have now really got to grips with dealing with the players at the club. Those that cross the line are moved out and those that need support are given it.
Nothing new there, however I have appreciated how they have got on and negotiated transfers. The way they played hardball on Benteke, buy-back clause on Ibe, top dollar for Allen and the genius of Balotelli, allowing him a free transfer to Nice, whilst inserting a sell on fee clause. GENIUS…!!
Proof that they have learnt and are dealing with it the best way possible.
The latest hurdle they need to avoid is the Sakho one. Clearly something has happened – that’s plain for all to see. Klopp has given him an opportunity at U23 and now wants him out. Some people are saying that was a PR stunt, just to show empathy – I don’t buy it. I think Klopp is bold enough and brave enough to stand by his convictions.
In the news last week Mario Balotelli has stated that he is now loving life in France, and would enjoy having a familiar face around.
Sakho to Nice?
According to Telefoot, the Italian wants Mamadou Sakho to join him. He actually looks like he’s turned things around now, having made eight appearances for the Ligue 1 side and scoring seven goals in the process.
He is clearly loving life in France, Nice are 3 points clear of Monaco at the top of the league. Sakho however doesn’t look to have any sort of future at Liverpool. It’s a big change as Sakho looked to be part of Klopp’s plans, he was an integral part of the Reds’ Europa League run last season.
Matip to partner Sakho?
The assumption was that Matip would partner Sakho when he joined the club.
Sakho had to deal with the UEFA imposed ban – the one that made him miss the Europa League Final. Eventually the ban was lifted, but varying disciplinary issues kept him away from the 1st team.
Reports have suggested a January move is likely. Could Nice be the club for Sakho? Balotelli certainly wants him around, and speaking to Telefoot writer Matt Spiro, the striker said: “I’ve talked to him. What a waste! He should leave Liverpool. He should come here.”
Balotelli also tipped Nice to win the Ligue 1 title this season, insisting that there are huge possibilities.
“It’s possible but it will be difficult. We’ve only played 11 games. But I’m here to win something so I think it’s possible.
“Nice were ‘a good side, even without Mario,” he joked. “I am happy, We are top of the league. But that isn’t enough for me.”
