Liverpool’s striker Christian Benteke looks set to turn down West Bromwich Albion. Looks like tomorrows headline could be ‘Benteke to Crystal Palace’, as this is now his preferred destination. Have Liverpool now finally managed to sell last years ‘main transfer’.
Benteke to Crystal Palace..
Crystal Palace are now growing increasingly confident that they can reach an agreement for Benteke this week. The Belgium international is preparing himself for a move too. The good news is that Palace are willing to match Benteke’s £120,000-a-week Liverpool wages with personal terms not thought to be an issue in any deal.

Jurgen Klopp has recently confirmed that Benteke was not going to be part of his plans for the forthcoming season. However the club are keen to recoup as much of the initial outlay of £32.5m as possible. “Everyone knows about it. Christian has already said maybe it makes sense to go to another club”.
Aston Villa’s star man..
Aston Villa’s play was built around his strengths. His aerial ability, height and power are the main parts of his game, making him the perfect target man for crosses, you could say he’s almost a perfect no. 9. To get the best out of him his team have to use the wing. This allows him to move in and around the box to receive the ball either with his head or holding it up waiting for support. Sadly, this is not the way that Liverpool play. You do question why Brendan Rodgers signed him in the 1st place.
“Christian is still a really great striker. We have a few more strikers and I think it makes more sense to give them match time.
Crystal Palace due an upgrade..
Crystal Palace have been after a new striker for a while now and had a £25m bid for Benteke turned down last month. However Alan Pardew is really keen on bringing him to Selhurst Park.
Pardew can almost guarantee Benteke regular game time with only Connor Wickham and Frazier Campbell on the books as Crystal Palace’s striking options. With the thoughts that he would offer a better return.
West Brom have also recently entered the race but there have been reports that Benteke would prefer a move to London rather than the West Midlands.
But, if Liverpool are keen on Benteke leaving sooner rather than later then they may have to lower their asking price.
It’s now become very public where Benteke and Balotelli stand which will be a great bargaining tool for would-be suitors.
