Barcelona are looking for to use Turkish midfielder Arda Turan as leverage in their deal for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho. The Catalan giants have been at the heart of two high profile transfer rumours this summer, surrounding the future of Coutinho and Neymar.
Neymar has been linked with a big money move to Paris Saint-Germain and the possibility of his exit has accelerated Barcelona into making a £72m move for Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.
Jürgen Klopp has remained adamant that the club’s 25-year-old Brazilian is not for sale at any price, however, Barcelona are hoping to tempt Liverpool into a sale with the inclusion of 30-year-old Turan, according to the Mirror.
The Turkish international has been a long term target of both Liverpool and Arsenal, attracting their attention during his four-year spell with Atlético Madrid.
The last time we were linked with him was in November where the rumour of a swap plus cash deal started off. That naturally didn’t materialise, however it’s not a surprise to see it come back out again. After all the past 5 transfer windows Turan has been linked with Liverpool!!
Turan opted to complete a £29m transfer to the Camp Nou in 2015 and since his move, he has made just 55 appearances for Barcelona – should have opted to transfer to Liverpool instead.
The Catalan side are looking to clear room within their squad for new additions this summer with 24-year-old Brazilian Rafinha, the younger brother of Bayern Munich’s Thiago, being offered to Arsenal for £27m. I’m sure that should Neymar go to PSG then we will see another offer being presented to FSG.
